This day of the week was a day of decision … for Judas. For just 30 pieces of silver, Judas betrayed the One he had followed and listened to and watched and helped. I wonder what he planned to do with those 30 pieces of silver. He must've had some plans, but whatever they were, Judas became so guilty about what he had done that he ended his own life. Instead of buying satisfaction for himself or pleasure or revenge or power or fame, he bought "emptiness." To betray means: to reveal or disclose in violation of confidence, to disappoint the hopes or expectations of; to desert; to be unfaithful in guarding. Read the account in Matt. 26:14-16, Mark 14:10-11, Luke 22:3-6.
