Joseph of Arimathea was a "good and righteous" man. He also happened to be a part of he Jewish council, but he hadn't agreed with the majority who decided to accuse and crucify the Son of God. In fact, when Jesus breathed His last breath and yielded His life for those who had no room for Him, the man from Arimathea "went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud and laid him in a tomb cut in stone, where no one had ever yet been laid" (Luke 23:50-53).
What makes someone give his "best room," (Matt. 27:60), his "own tomb," to a man more despised than Barabbas? Joseph "was looking for the kingdom of God" (Lk. 23:51).
He walked with God. He was willing to stand alone for God's Son. He watched for the kingdom of God. He wanted to serve God.
Without thinking of himself or putting his own future first, Joseph gave Jesus the best room.
