Truth for Stress

2 Corinthians 4:7-10 (New International Version)

7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body

God receives credit when my "clay" nature is revealed and yielded to Him. In fact, Jesus is "revealed in our body" when we are victorious over our stress, when we demonstrate peace in the midst of pressure.

If you would like to pray with us during our Women's Retreat Friday-Saturday, here's how you can pray:
~ There will be women with us who do not know Jesus as their Savior. Pray for their eyes to be opened.
~ Pray that those God would have to be there would not be prevented by things of “life” …. overtime, emergencies, illness, car trouble, etc.
~ Pray for the women of all ages attending, to have soft and open hearts as they come.
~ Technology is such a help in events, but also a “live wire.” Pray for our technology to function well and be effective, not distracting, in getting out the message of the truth.
~ Our speaker is Gwen Smith. Pray for her family to be well and to have their needs met, so that she is free to partner with us. Pray for energy and insight as she joins us. Gwen will be leading in worship and teaching, so pray for strength in her voice.
~ Our Women’s Ministry team always faces challenges in the weeks prior to our Retreat, and this year is no different. Would you pray for us to have physical, emotional, and spiritual strength, to care for our priorities in a way that pleases God? Some of us are facing physical challenges right now, so also pray we will not be distracted by pain or weakness.

Our retreat will be different, because these needs are lifted to the Lord. I'll look forward to sharing what God does through and in our "jars of clay,"
