I've never been to a "blog party," but I'm learning so much about this unique medium of connecting with people. I found the Ultimate Blog Party at my friend Kristi's blog. In checking it out, I found some great new sites to learn from and get some infusion of encouragement.
To describe myself, I guess I could start with age. On one site I had to fill out a short survey, and I shocked myself to realize that I had to check the 39-50 age bracket! Whoa! That hurts. I still see myself as twenty something, partly due to the fact that my handsome pastor husband is constantly being accused of being a college student ... something he hasn't been for over 20 years. :) I, on the other hand, am growing my own "crown of wisdom." Our two kids, 14 yr old daughter Jo and almost 12 yr old son Jake, say that I have my own natural "highlights."
Speaking of Tennessee, it's still hard for me to believe I live in Tennessee. I come from a long line of Virginians, and it is only by God's grace that He has given me abundant life in Him in place of emptiness that plagued many generations before me. I met my husband while we were both in college in the midwest. Life and ministry have taken us around the US and all the way to Asia in the last nearly 20 years of marriage. It has been an adventure and a joy. He is now a "Pastor of Maturity," and I am a Women's Ministry Director, while homeschooling one of our children.
My blog is an extension of my ministry with women, an expression of my love for God's Word and for writing. The two seem to be such great companions, as I find truth for life in the Bible and love the opportunity to share it's applications in the everyday doings of life.
This is my first "Blog Party," and I have already found some great new sites and resources. I look forward to making some new connections with other women of faith seeking to live out this life with a mindset of peace!

Hello, Julie! It's such a pleasure to meet you. Your blog is beautiful and, well, peaceful! I'm so glad God sent me to your blog (via your comment on mine) today...I was in need of some of the refreshment here! I'll be back!
Hi, this is my first blog party as well. I'm already having fun and meeting wonderful new people and reading new blogs.
It nice to meet you.
My first blog party too, tho a friend is involved in something called "meet & greet." This seems more likely to generate folks who have things in common.
I love the pic on your blog. I lived in Knoxville until i was 8 & loved it. The pic is very reminiscent of my childhood memories.
God bless you, i hope you meet lots of new friends.
Hi, Julie!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Y'know, from the moment your page began to load (it's a process for me, pages don't just "load" here) I could sense a peace -- and not just from the absolutely stunning header photo. You've done a great job of setting the mood with color and type and covering the project with prayer.
Blessings to you and your family! If you ever get "homesick", I'd love to have you stop by again! Hope to talk to you soon!
